Once you have been notified of your acceptance, you will be asked to make your nonrefundable deposit of $500.00 within 48 hours. This deposit must be received within that time, or your place will be released to another writer.

The balance of your registration fee is due on December 4, 2017. (For participants registering late, off the wait list, or in our extended kama’aina registration period, your balance is due within two weeks after registration.) Failure to pay the balance by the due date will result in the cancellation of your reservation. Installment payment plans may be available upon request; if you need this arrangement, please contact us. Your reservation is not secured until we receive the full registration fee.

Please note that all payments are nonrefundable. There are no refunds for leaving Pele’s Fire early or arriving late, or for skipping meals. All activities are optional; however, if you choose to opt out of any of our activities or offerings, that is your choice, and you will not receive a refund of any part of your registration fee.

Your registration fee includes Pele’s Fire tuition (for all workshop offerings, instruction, and an individual consultation on your manuscript) plus accommodations/use fees charged by Kalani.  Kalani’s fees include three meals a day, use of the grounds, and vary according to your selection of accommodations. Kalani offers you a specially-negotiated discount for participating in our group.  We do not add a surcharge onto their costs. Your accommodations will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis, depending on Kalani’s availability. If you would like to share a cabin with a traveling companion, please let us know.

By making your nonrefundable deposit, you agree that you have read through the description of the retreat, the accommodations and our offerings on our website: pelesfire.com, and also the guest information and frequently asked questions at: kalani.com. You have viewed the Kalani guest orientation video and you are aware that Kalani is a natural environment. You are in agreement with our policies and our liability waiver.

Please consider travel insurance to protect yourself against changes in your circumstances. Remember, Pele’s Fire is not responsible for participants’ air or ground travel and will not issue refunds for unused airline or ground travel reservations. Exceptions to this cancellation policy cannot be made for any reason, including personal emergencies. Once again, please consider travel insurance to protect yourself against changes in your circumstances.

Pele’s Fire reserves the right to cancel any of our programs with a full refund to accepted participants in case of insufficient registration or for reasons of force majeure. In cases of personal or health emergencies that result in instructor cancelations, we will endeavor to replace the instructor with a suitable replacement.  Please select your second and third choices with that in mind.

**NOTE: In the event that you have paid in full for your participation and you cannot attend due to personal circumstances or emergency, please let us know ASAP and we will try to fill your spot with a writer on the waitlist. If we can do so, we will make every effort to return your fee (less your truly nonrefundable $500 deposit). This is not a guarantee, nor is it an exception to these policies, but an offering that we will try to honor.
